In Galatians 3:7, God tells us that we are the children of Abraham, if we are of faith. Galatians 3:9 tells us that they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Then Galatians 3:29 says,
“And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.”
In these verses, we see that we are uniquely tied to Abraham and the Abrahamic blessings. Romans 4:16 says,
“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.”
Notice that we receive God’s grace on our lives the same way Abraham did, by faith. Christians who are lacking God’s blessings can receive them by placing their faith in God’s covenant with Abraham. You might ask, "how does that work?" God did not just promise to bless Abraham; He also promised to bless His seed, which we are. "But I’m not a Jew", you may say. Let me explain God’s plan. Look at Galatians 3:16.
“Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”
So God made covenant with Abraham and Jesus. So where do we fit in? Well, Jesus decided to marry us, which binds us together and gives us access to the covenant. The Body of Christ is the Bride of Christ! Ephesians 5:28-32 says,
“So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”
We are one with Jesus by covenant. Therefore, whatever Jesus and Abraham received, we can receive. The promise has been passed down to us by faith.
Many people today do not believe that God provides everything we need. They say He’ll provide in heaven, but you have to wait until then. If that is the case, Abraham, Isaac, David, Solomon, etc., should not have received earthly blessings.
God wants us to know that He will meet all our needs according to His riches in glory. He is interested in fulfilling His covenant to us, because we are Abraham’s seed. If you will believe like Abraham believed, you can receive. Read Genesis 22:1-4 and Hebrews 11:17-19. Abraham offered his only son, and many years later God offered His only Son, Jesus. God could do no less than His covenant partner, Abraham. Historians tell us that Jesus was crucified on the very spot where Abraham offered up Isaac.
Today, believe God that you are Abraham’s seed and claim your rightful inheritance.
Praise God we are entering the home stretch. I believe the church in this generation has been handed the responsibility of finishing the work that Jesus started. No longer can we stay behind our church walls and sing and preach, while we let the world go to hell.
As you can see, I am very stirred up. Jesus is giving last day commands to His church. From this time on it is push, push, push! He will work with us with great signs and miracles, if we will go in faith and start reaping the harvest.
John 4:34-38 says,
“Jesus said unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work. Say not ye, there are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, one soweth, and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men labored, and ye are entered into their labour.”
I can see plainly how we have entered into another’s labor. There are thousands of people today that have had the Word of God spoken to them by a relative, Sunday School teacher, fellow employee, etc. These people are contemplating giving their lives to God. All they need is for someone to invite them to church or to share with them their testimony.
I want you to read this letter and allow it to stir you into becoming a worker for God! Jesus was sent to die on a cross, but He was also sent to teach His church how to become fishers of men. The most exciting time in a Christian’s life is when they are working for God. We are laborers with Him.
We have an eternal purpose. The life of a person goes beyond the physical body. I see hours and hours that a doctor works to save somebody physically. Millions of dollars are spent to sustain temporary existence, with people never comprehending the life after. The devil hates anyone that works for the Lord. In fact, he places a lot of pressure on people to get them off of God’s plan for the world's salvation.
You are more than just a carpenter, secretary, teacher or banker. You are the answer for a hopeless mankind! Take some bold steps to allow your God to flow through you. Let me give you some principles to start motivating you into finishing Jesus’ work on the earth.
#1 Think about how Jesus has filled you with His Father’s Spirit.
#2 Recognize that the works Jesus did you will do, because He has gone to His Father.
#3 No man or devil can stop you, because God lives in you.
#4 You are not ashamed of the gospel or Jesus Christ.
#5 You can stop eternal damnation for someone by sharing God’s Word.
Your life will never be the same as your start your work of winning the world to Jesus! Be encouraged today.
