Insanity: something that is extremely foolish. This is only one of many definitions given for insanity. Insanity, as it relates to an addictive lifestyle, could be defined in this manner: repeating the same unhealthy behavior over and over and each time expecting different results. This kind of behavior often results in leading a secret life. So much so, that we start burning up huge amounts of energy deceiving others and ourselves. This begins to take a toll on our lives and becomes increasingly characterized by irritability, nervous tension, mood swings, insomnia, and other stress symptoms.

No secret life can be kept hidden forever! The most courageous step we can take is to say, “I’m hurting myself…I’m hurting my relationship with God…I’m hurting my loved ones…and this is going to stop now!”
